Tips for Sharing Jesus in Everyday Life
Evangelism happens in many ways. It is not limited to the pulpit. It can occur over dinner with friends, in a break room with a coworker, or even during casual online chats. For 2025, our evangelism vision emphasizes “relational evangelism”, sharing Jesus through natural, compassionate, and non-aggressive ways.
Key Tips for Relational Evangelism
1) Approach with Love, Compassion, and Sensitivity
Let love be your driving force, not fear. Share the good news of Jesus with humility and kindness. FEAR LESS, LOVE MORE!
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
Remember, not everyone is unfamiliar with Jesus. Be considerate and open, recognizing their prior experiences.
“In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
2) Use Wisdom in Your Approach
In today’s culture, the church is often under scrutiny. Be mindful of cultural nuances and choose the right timing to share the gospel or engage in discussions about faith.
“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.” Colossians 4:5
Avoid coming across as judgmental or intrusive. Let your actions speak as much as your words.
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.” Proverbs 11:30
3) Leverage Social Media Wisely
Social media is a powerful tool for outreach, but it requires discernment. Avoid public arguments or divisive comments, even with those you know personally.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1
Instead, opt for direct, private conversations to avoid unnecessary tension or misunderstandings.
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29
4) Focus on Christ, Not Just Your Church
Evangelism is not about building Fearless Love Church’s attendance but about guiding people toward a relationship with Christ.
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:7
It is okay if someone decides to attend another church. Our goal is their salvation, not just membership.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19
5) Be Ready for Hard Questions
Be prepared to share why you believe in Jesus and how your faith has impacted your life.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15
Questions like “Why do you believe what you believe?” or “What does a relationship with God look like?” are opportunities to share your testimony.
Final Thoughts
Do not worry if you do not have every answer. God’s word is always accessible. Take time to open the Bible. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
